CWU Conference 2014 Health & Safety Fringe Meeting Announced

The Health and Safety fringe meeting at the CWU's annual conference has become the main event for those involved with the issues in the workplace that affect everyone, irrespective of grade, gender or political opinions.

The event is always packed out, despite it taking place during the conference lunch break.

This year's Health and Safety Fringe meeting will take place on Tuesday 29 April. The Fringe meeting will unusually take place on the first day of the Industrial Conference due to the availability of our special guest speaker.

This year we have an excellent guest speaker in Nigel Bryson OBE BSc CFIOSH, former GMB National Health, Safety and Environment Officer and former BFAWU National Health and Safety Officer. Nigel also undertook work for the TUC with the HSE on Worker Involvement.

Nigel is the author of the book "Zero Harm: Worker involvement – the missing piece" and now runs his own Health and Safety Consultancy 'Bryson Consulting'  which aims to develop expertise in workforce motivation and to improve health and safety standards in organisations, by generating workforce involvement and participation.

Further information and a meeting 'flyer' will be distributed in due course and at the start of Conference.

As in previous years, a full report of the event will be available on this website.
